GALLERY 4

THE ARCHITECTURAL ABSTRACTS
The paintings within this Series combine my love for ancient architecture and lost civilizations. This series is created using a variety of mediums. First, a photo emulsion transfer is applied as the background covered by a thick coat of gel medium as to insure the image is sealed into the paper. I then overlap and combine gradual layers of translucent acrylic color to create the visual illusion of depth. Next, using various techniques of drawing, painting and calligraphy I create the look of an ancient language. Architectural elements and repetitive geometric symbols along with simulated old-world calligraphic text are applied to create interest. The semi-matte, textured surface of each piece is then finished by adding airbrushed shadows and a high-gloss clear coat that further enhance the illusion of depth and space. There are 20 image in this gallery to choose from. All images for sale on this page are for Archival prints only.
